Wildewood
Located just 20 miles away from downtown Columbia, Wildewood neighborhood is an oasis of prestige. It was first developed in 1967, but really hit its stride in the 1990s. At nearly 10 square miles, this community, with two Country Clubs and a State Park, is located on the northeast side of Columbia. Alpine Road, Two Notch Road, Spears Creek Road, and Percival Road border the community.
Its location also means it's close to I-77 and I-20. That means a trip to Myrtle Beach or other areas of interest are a must. Many of the homes in the Wildewood neighborhood border the 1,500-acre Sesquicentennial State Park property or one of the two exclusive golf courses. The park includes hiking and biking trails, picnic shelters, as well as a pond for fishing and swimming during the summer months, as well as canoes for rental. Homes range in value from just under $220,000 to well over $2.5 million. The sizes are just as impressive starting at 1,900 square feet and going up to 8,500 square feet.
Amenities include water views from one of the many community ponds, marble flooring, wine cellars, elevators, in ground pools, and basements. Well-appointed town homes with prices in the 150s are about 1,800 square feet. Wildewood also has assisted living for seniors. The Wildewood Country Club and the Woodlands Country Clubs are in the neighborhood. One membership gives you access to the benefits of both Clubs.
Wildewood is also just minutes from the new Villages at Sandhills with a large variety of shops and eating establishments to choose from. There is also a weekly Farmers Market across the street at the Sandhills Clemson Research Facility during the warmer months.
